A Slice of Blue-Collar Americana
While diner fare may not make the traditional cut for an inn such as ours, if you’re traveling here for a visit to Norman Rockwell any list remiss of Joe’s would not be complete. In the words of one travel critic: “There’s no better slice of blue-collar Americana in the Berkshires than Joe’s Diner, Norman Rockwell’s famous painting of a policeman sitting at a counter talking to a young boy, The Runaway (1958), was inspired by this diner. Joe’s has barely changed a wink – not the bar stools and not the old-fashioned diner fare.”
